My academic background includes a BBA with distinction, and a joint degree from the exclusive combined JD/MBA program at the Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Hall Law School. I also hold a Certificate from Osgoode in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards and Tribunals.
My professional experience began on Bay Street in tax and tax policy with litigation experience before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal. My writing and commentary has been published in the Canadian Tax Journal and Practitioner’s Notes to the Income Tax Act.
Since 2013 I’ve worked as full time dental counsel. I’ve assisted numerous offices across the GTA in growing enterprise value, finding locations, drafting leases and contracts, creating brands, policies for compliance with PIPEDA, managing HR, overseeing marketing campaign compliance, managing conflict, assisting associate dentists in RCDSO complaints and investigations, and amicably solving landlord tenant disputes.
I’ve supported the development of commercial real estate with single and multiple dental offices including general, pediatric and orthodontic specialty practices. I’ve worked with landlords to complete zoning changes for amazing dental office locations. I’ve successfully made representations to City Council’s to negotiate unprecedented dental office signage.
Every dental deal has something unique. What is also unique, is finding a lawyer as driven to achieve a client goal. I’ve worked with all the major dental lawyers, banks, brokers and accountants in the industry on share and asset sales of dental practices. I’ve negotiated leases and lease transfers with landlords ranging from single owners, family portfolios and industry giants including RioCan and Trinity Capital.
